Tulsi’s passion for cybersecurity and risk management is rooted in a simple belief: security and compliance should strengthen a business, not just check a box. As a Principal in Smith + Howard’s Cyber Risk practice, he oversees the firm’s ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 certification practices and leads Cybersecurity Risk and Maturity Assessment services. He helps organizations navigate complex security and compliance requirements through practical, risk-focused assessments and certification services.

With over 15 years of experience in cybersecurity, risk, and compliance, Tulsi has helped organizations across a wide range of industries design, implement, assess, and mature their governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) programs. His background spans security leadership, consulting, and auditing, giving him a practical perspective on what works in practice, not just what a framework requires.

Tulsi is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Data Privacy Solutions Engineer (CDPSE), Certificate of Cloud Security Knowledge (CCSK) holder, and Certified ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Auditor. He holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems, a Master of Accountancy, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Colorado State University.

He’s passionate about partnering with organizations that view security, privacy, and compliance as strategic business enablers, helping them gain confidence in their programs, manage risk effectively, and meet stakeholder expectations.
