Mark’s deep specialization in construction and his commitment to client service have played a significant role in the reputation and success of our construction practice across the Carolinas.
Mark joined Smith + Howard (formerly Smith Kesler & Co.) in 1989 and became a partner in 1998. As a leader in our Charlotte office, he balances management responsibilities with delivering high-quality tax and assurance services to a portfolio of construction clients. Mark is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) and is known for his attention to detail and personal investment in each client’s success.
He is a member of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), North Carolina Association of CPAs, American Institute of CPAs and previously served on the Carolinas AGC Supplier/Service Advisory Council. Mark also serves as Finance Chair and Administrative Council member at his church.
