Brian Grainger

Brian Grainger is a Partner in Smith + Howard’s Assurance Services practice, joining the firm through its September 2025 acquisition of Horton, Lee & Burnett. Based in Birmingham, Alabama, he brings more than 20 years of experience providing audit, assurance, and advisory services to privately held companies across a variety of industries.

Joining Horton, Lee & Burnett in 2011 and becoming Partner in 2019, Brian has built a reputation for his technical depth, client-first approach, and ability to strengthen financial reporting processes. His experience includes construction, distribution, and manufacturing clients, as well as nonprofits. He is especially valued for helping organizations improve transparency, enhance internal controls, and anticipate risks.
