Smith + Howard Announces Expansion of Benefit Plan Audit Practice

On January 31, 2024, Smith + Howard, a national tax, accounting and advisory firm headquartered in Atlanta finalized the acquisition of JMM CPAs, a specialty employee benefit plan (EBP) audit practice headquartered in Chicago, IL with clients and employees across the country.

The acquisition aligns with Smith + Howard’s strategic plan to expand the national footprint of its EBP practice and provide highly specialized services through a group of professionals solely committed to EBP services. The combined EBP practice serves over 500 plans and has 30 employees fully dedicated to EBP audit services.

In addressing the synergies between the two firms, J.
