Travis Shears

Travis Shears joined Smith + Howard in January of 2024 and focuses primarily on tax compliance and financial advisory projects specific to logistics and manufacturing businesses. He is partner in our Chattanooga tax practice. Travis’s experience includes time with a Big 4 firm, a Top 100 firm, and in leadership in the logistics industry.

Before joining Smith + Howard, Travis served as Vice President of Tax at U.S. Xpress Enterprises, Inc., which was the fifth-largest truckload carrier in the U.S. before it was acquired by Knight-Swift Transportation in July 2023. His experience in the industry provided him with a valuable perspective and intricate knowledge of the business that he now leverages with Smith + Howard’s trucking and logistics clients.
