Julie Barnes serves as Chief of Staff at Smith + Howard Advisory LLC, where she plays a pivotal role in driving strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and cross-functional collaboration across the business.

With over 30 years of leadership experience, Julie is a trusted advisor to the executive team, partnering closely with senior leadership to execute firmwide initiatives and ensure alignment with long-term growth objectives. She acts as a key liaison between departments, helping to streamline communication, prioritize strategic goals, and support coordination between Smith + Howard’s offices.

Formerly Chief Marketing Officer, Julie brings deep expertise in brand development, organizational growth, and executive communications to her new role. Her background in leading award-winning marketing initiatives and scaling the firm from a 27-person team to a private equity-backed organization of more than 500 professionals uniquely positions her to support the firm’s continued expansion and operational excellence.
