Annandale Village
Annandale Village is the only non-profit residential community in the southeastern United States that serves adults with developmental disabilities and acquired brain injuries.
As part of our Day of Service, Smith + Howard took a tour of the village and participated in a game day with residents, complete with outdoor fun and water balloons.
Atlanta Community Food Bank
Atlanta Community Food Bank fights hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community.
As part of our Day of Service, Smith + Howard sorted and organized food at Atlanta Community Food Bank. We provided 17,365 meals for families in the Atlanta community.
Atlanta Humane Society
Atlanta Humane Society seeks to improve the lives and well-being of pets and people, collectively and perhaps most importantly, one life, one need, one animal at a time.
As part of our Day of Service, Smith + Howard volunteers helped out at the Arthur M. Blank Family Animal Center by cleaning kennels, completing animal admissions, taking some dogs to the splash pad and had lots of play time with the dogs.
Atlanta Mission
Atlanta Mission is a community united to end homelessness one person at a time.
Smith + Howard held a clothing drive to collect items that were donated to Atlanta Mission.
Barack and Michelle Obama Academy
The Barack and Michelle Obama Academy’s mission is to enrich, nurture, and respect all children as unique individuals while fostering an environment which develops the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development of every child.
Smith + Howard had the pleasure of helping 37 first grade boys and girls to celebrate the holidays by fulfilling their Holiday Wish Lists!
Calvary Children’s Home
Calvary Children’s Home is a home for children in the Metro Atlanta area that are orphaned or need to live apart from their families. The thirteen-acre campus in Powder Springs, GA provides a safe, loving Christian home for children.
As part of our Day of Service, Smith + Howard did garden work, painting and tending to the playground and general beautification of the campus. We also got to play kickball with some of the Calvary Kids.
Center for Family Resources
Center for Family Resources mission is to reduce childhood homelessness by serving and empowering families through prevention, crisis intervention, housing support, education, and compassionate care management.
After hosting a 15-day food drive, Smith + Howard volunteers can help CFR pack meal boxes that will be delivered to families during the week of Thanksgiving.
Chambliss Center for Children
The mission of Chambliss Center for Children is to enrich the lives of children, youth, and families by providing transformative programs and support services to meet the evolving needs of our community.
Smith + Howard volunteered with various projects as part of the Chambliss Center residential program, one of which was to help clean and prepare a program home from top to bottom.
Chattanooga Area Food Bank
Working with hundreds of Hunger-Relief Partners, and with the help of volunteers and donors, Chattanooga Area Food Bank works to end hunger in Southeast Tennessee and Northwest Georgia.
Smith + Howard assisted by sorting food, stocking shelves and helping neighbors out as they shop for food.
Cobb Global Outreach
Cobb Global Outreach is a program dedicated to educating middle and high school students about financial literacy.
Smith + Howard donated backpacks and essential school supplies to families in need through their Star to Success Backpack Campaign.
Community Partners of Dallas
Community Partners of Dallas provides resources that abused children urgently need today so they can thrive tomorrow.
Smith + Howard donated backpack and school supply drive to support families in need.
CURE Childhood Cancer
CURE is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding targeted research while supporting patients and their families.
Smith + Howard packed 150 meal kits and 50 toiletry kits for families who may have lengthy outpatient clinic visits and/or hospital stays.
Dress for Success Atlanta
The mission of Dress for Success is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and in life.
Smith + Howard employees donated professional dress items including suits, dress shoes and blouses.
Feed My Starving Children
As a Christian nonprofit organization, Feed My Starving Children is called to feed God’s starving children hungry in body and spirit.
Smith + Howard held a meal-packing activity for fully remote office team members to come together and support this non-profit organization.
Frontline Response
Frontline Response is on the frontlines every day rescuing men and women out of homelessness and sex trafficking, while preventing children and vulnerable individuals from falling victim.
Smith + Howard made sandwiches, wrote encouragement cards, and packed bags to be distributed during the Outreach Program. Volunteers completed a mock outreach with other volunteers to learn how to interact with someone experiencing trafficking, sex work or homelessness.
Furkids
Furkids, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a nonprofit charitable organization that operates the largest cage-free, no-kill shelter in the Southeast for rescued cats and Sadie’s Place, a no-kill shelter for rescued dogs.
Smith + Howard volunteers started out by walking dogs at the dog shelter and then visited their cat café for a tour and meeting with cats in the shelter.
Hispanic Alliance
Hispanic Alliance’s mission is to improve the quality of life and provide opportunities for our Hispanic community through services, collaborations, and initiatives in education, health, financial stability, and immigration as well as highlighting the important contributions.
Smith+ Howard helped prep food and hygiene bags to be distributed to some of the families they support through their service center.
Rainbow Village
Rainbow Village seeks to transform the lives of families experiencing homelessness by providing help, hope, housing and healing in order to instill initiative, self-development and accountability that will foster meaningful growth in the lives their organization.
Smith + Howard volunteers participated in a Poverty Simulation, toured the Rainbow House campus and helped organize, clean, and inventory their donation room and kitchen.
Lost-n-Found Youth
Lost-n-Found Youth is an Atlanta based non-profit that exists to end homelessness for LGBTQ+ youth.
Smith + Howard held a clothing drive to collect items to donate to the Lost-n-Found Thrift Store where the proceeds sold benefit the non-profit organization.
NorthTexas Food Bank
Every dollar donated to NorthTexas Food Bank provides access to three healthy meals for hungry North Texans, and 95% of their resources go directly to hunger relief programs.
Smith + Howard helped package 19,200 meals for North Texans facing hunger.
Rise Against Hunger
Rise Against Hunger impacts remote, last-mile communities within hunger pockets can feel daunting.
Smith + Howard helped assemble dehydrated meals to feed children and their families across the globe during their annual Foodstock event. Each meal will feed a family of six–this event alone will help package as many as 285,120 meals.
Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlanta
Ronald McDonald House Charities Atlanta provides comfort during an extraordinarily difficult time for families. Since 1979, they have served more than 71,000 families with ill and injured children receiving medical care nearby.
As part of our Day of Service, Smith + Howard volunteers helped make casseroles, sweet treats and savory snacks for the families while they are staying in the Peachtree Dunwoody House.
Sheltering Arms
Sheltering Arms provides high-quality early education, childcare and comprehensive family support services to up to 3,500 children and their families annually at 13 metropolitan Atlanta locations in Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton and Gwinnett counties.
Smith + Howard planned an outdoor beautification project for the Sheltering Arms Norcross Center. Projects include cleaning up the playground, planting flowers and repainting a roadway for the children.
Special Olympics of Georgia
The mission of Special Olympics Georgia is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Smith + Howard is a 2025 Winter Games Sponsor and volunteered at the games in 2024.
United Way
Uniting people and resources in building a stronger, healthier community. We envision a community where all people achieve their full human potential through education, stability, and health and well-being.
Smith + Howard participated in United Way Day of Caring, a city-wide day of volunteerism. For 20 years now, it has united local businesses, nonprofits, and community members to enhance public spaces, support local organizations, and address pressing needs in the community. Volunteers get their hands dirty alongside the folks they are normally on email chains with.
