Michael Gapen

Michael began his career in 2017 and joined Smith + Howard in October 2025. He currently serves as a Manager in the Assurance Practice. With over eight years of experience, he has built a career focused on serving the commercial and multifamily real estate industry, bringing clients a strong blend of technical expertise and industry insight.

His work spans financial reporting under GAAP, IFRS, tax-basis standards, and internal control assessments. He is known for cultivating client relationships and delivering strategic solutions that support growth and compliance.

Michael earned both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Accounting degrees from The Pennsylvania State University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
