Patty joined Smith & Howard in 2002 and serves as the Director of Human Resources. In this role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of firm-wide human resources programs. In addition, she provides leadership in the areas of recruiting, retention, employee relations and counseling, compensation and benefits. She also ensures the Firm’s legal compliance with federal and state laws. Patty has over 25 years of management experience in various roles in professional service firms.
Patty oversees all recruiting efforts for the Firm, including campus and experienced professionals recruiting as well as our annual leadership training conference, The Leadership Institute program for highly qualified accounting students. Patty serves on the S&H University Committee which plans the firm’s internal educational curriculum as well as the Staff Development Committee whose purpose is to attract, develop and retain highly qualified and motivated people.
Patty received her BBA in Marketing from North Georgia College and her MBA in International Business from Georgia State University. She holds the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification by the HR Certification Institute and the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification by the Society for Human Resource Management. These certifications demonstrate mastery of technical and operational aspects of HR practices and U.S. laws and regulations. Patty is a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management as well as the Atlanta Chapter. In addition, she is a member of both the National and Atlanta Chapters of the CPA Firm Management Association and currently serves as co-VP for the Atlanta Chapter.
Patty loves sports (especially the Braves), movies and spending time with her family. She lives in Newnan with her husband and daughter.
