Construction Alert - February 2007

Commercial construction spending in the U.S. rose 13.4 percent in the first ten months of 2006 compared to the same period a year ago, according to the Census Bureau.

Prices for cement rose 6 percent in December 2006, compared to the same month a year ago; steel rose 9.6 percent, according to Engineering News-Record (Construction Economics, February 5, 2007).
