Sean joined the firm in 1993 and is partner in charge of the Assurance Services group. He provides advisory, audit, review, attestation and other assurance services for privately-held businesses and nonprofit organizations. Sean leads the firm's Nonprofit Team and is involved in employee benefit plan audit services for private and public companies, and field audit and assurance services for financial institutions.
Sean is called on to present to nonprofits, lenders and construction businesses. He has both served on and moderated numerous nonprofit panels, has presented on the effects of healthcare reform on the nonprofit industry, presented Smith & Howard’s Blueprint for Understanding Contractors workshop to construction companies and commercial lenders, and has presented on FIN 48. Sean manages the quality control system of the department and peer review process for the firm.
Sean graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in accounting. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, Vistage, the Associated General Contractors of America, Georgia Branch and the Associated Builders and Contractors. Sean is a delegate to the Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church out of the Atlanta/Roswell district and further serves the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church as the Chair of the Council on Finance and Administration, as a member of the Committee on Personnel Policy and Practices and participates in both the Annual Conference Planning Committee and the Connectional Table of the Conference. He is a member of the Wesleyan School's Finance Committee.
A native Atlantan, Sean, his wife and children live in Dunwoody. He spends his spare time with his family, serves on various committees at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, and enjoys an occasional UGA football game.
