Randall L. Shrum, CPA joined Smith & Howard in 2017. He is a Principal, a member of the Assurance Services Group and the nonprofit team. Prior to joining the firm, Randy was Managing Director at a national accounting firm and had previously been a Principal at a regional accounting firm headquartered in Atlanta.
Randy has spent over 25 years in public accounting with the bulk of his career focused on the nonprofit, manufacturing and construction sectors. His experience includes financial statement audits, implementation of new accounting and financial reporting standards, internal control assessment and improvement, governance and federal grant programs compliance. He has written on nonprofit topics and hosted several webinars for nonprofits on topics ranging from social responsibility to reputational risk and furthering engagement through creative use of social media.
Randy attended Indiana University, where he received a BS in Accounting. He is active in the community at a professional and civic level, serving as Audit Committee Chairman of the Cobb County Community Foundation, a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Nonprofit Taskforce Committee, and as a member of the GSCPA, AICPA and the Knights of Columbus.
Randy has been in Atlanta since 2005, moving to Marietta from South Bend, Indiana with his wife and two sons. He enjoys watching and attending Atlanta Braves games and traveling.
