James Wall recently joined Smith & Howard as IT Advisory Services Manager in our Accounting & Advisory group. Prior to joining Smith & Howard, he was with a Big 4 firm as a manager in the Tax Performance Advisory (TPA) group. James specializes in automation of processes and procedures to streamline efficiencies for clients, and has experience with indirect tax systems used to optimize the tax function for domestic and international companies.

James has almost a decade of combined industry and tax consulting experience in the implementation of tax systems and the development of processes and procedures; he has more than nine additional years of experience working with IT systems. In previous roles, James was a tax solutions architect for a large corporation and a manager with a Big Four accounting firm where he worked as a key subject matter expert in the tax technology practice focusing on SAP and OneSource Indirect Tax Solution. James has successfully implemented numerous solutions for clients on process and procedure improvements and other technology-specific solutions using a variety of financial and tax applications.

James has a BBA in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University. He is a Certified Member of the Institute (CMI) Sales & Use Tax from Institute for Professionals in Taxation as well as Accounts Payable Manager (APM) from TAPN and IOFM.

In his spare time, James enjoys traveling, bowling and marksmanship. His favorite teams include the Braves and Falcons.
