After Hours
|
Sometimes, our days are just getting started when the work day is done. After-hours activities at Smith & Howard are many and varied, and often belie the stereotype of a CPA. There’s always time for fun "among friends" and we certainly do our best to spend a little time bonding. From Braves baseball games to paintball battles, there’s something for any individual’s after-hours interests. In celebration of Smith & Howard's 40th anniversary in 2011, the firm has launched an aggressive community service project: 40 for 40. This project involves Smith & Howard staff volunteers coordinating service projects to 40 non-profit organizations over the next year to celebrate our 40 years in business. Check this page frequently for updates on our monthly projects.
Among the organizations already included in our 40 for 40 celebration are Shepherd Center, The Gateway Center, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Communities in Schools' Dine Out for Kids Day.
In addition to community service projects, we all enjoy a little bonding time after hours. Some of our after-hours activites have included: Paintball, Charitable Run/Walk events, Whirlyball, firm retreats, annual Atlanta Braves game outing and dinner, Habitat for Humanity home-building, catered dinner nightly during busy season, Ice Cream Cart Day and more. In addition, Smith & Howard provides corporate support to many of Atlanta’s community and charitable organizations. We are proud of our ongoing contributions — as individuals and/or as a group — in the following: Habitat for Humanity, United Way, TechBridge Digital Ball, MDA/Mansfield Oil Golf Tournament, Special Olympics Georgia / Bob Busse Golf Tournament, Cathedral of St. Philip Antique Show, Starlight Children’s Foundation, and the Cook School / Capital Area Mosaic Adopt-A-Class Program. |
