After Hours
|
Sometimes, our days are just getting started when the work day is done. After-hours activities at Smith & Howard are many and varied, and often belie the stereotype of a CPA.
There’s always time for fun "among friends" and we certainly do our best to spend a little time bonding. From Braves baseball games to paintball battles, there’s something for any individual’s after-hours interests. Some recent activities have included: Annual Paintball Battle, PROMINA Corporate Run/Walk, Whirlyball, annual firm retreats, Spring Egg Hunt with Chateau Elan weekend-for-two in the prize egg, Atlanta Braves game annual outing and dinner, Habitat for Humanity home-building, catered dinner nightly during busy season, Ice Cream Cart Day, busy season massages and mani-pedi days.

We also believe in an active commitment to the community. Individual participation in community and charitable activities is encouraged and supported. As a firm, we have been spurred to action by the strong commitment of several of our employees to organizations that have personal meaning for them. Most recently, we had a team of Smith & Howard women (Jodi Malis, Laura Drucker, Hilary Sherman, Katherine Grier and Chanika Vinson) who participated in, and completed, the 3Day walk to benefit the Susan G. Komen Cure for breast cancer. These brave and hearty women walked 60 miles in 3 days! (Photos on the right.)
In addition, Smith & Howard provides corporate support to many of Atlanta’s community and charitable organizations. We are proud of our ongoing contributions — as individuals and/or as a group — in the following: Habitat for Humanity, United Way, TechBridge Digital Ball, MDA/Mansfield Oil Golf Tournament, Special Olympics Georgia / Bob Busse Golf Tournament, Cathedral of St. Philip Antique Show, Starlight Children’s Foundation, and the Cook School / Capital Area Mosaic Adopt-A-Class Program.
